The PlayStation 3 is the first generation of Sony’s flagship gaming console to feature Netflix compatibility. You can set up and watch content from the video streaming service on your PS3 using the following steps:
Step 1: Update the Console Software
Update your console software to the most recent version, which is a simple process. Select Settings from the console’s main Dashboard, and select the Systems Update option. In case the system is already up to date, you can skip to the next step. After you have applied the update (which requires you to restart the console), move to the next step.
Step 2: Synchronize Your Console with Your Netflix Account
On your console’s Dashboard, go to “Video” and choose Netflix. Press X on your controller and select OK to confirm where your PlayStation 3 console was purchased from. Next, you will be prompted to initiate the download, select “Yes”. Your system will download and install the Netflix app.
Step 3: Choose Netflix Option
Once the installation is complete, you can choose Netflix (from the Video menu), on the PlayStation 3 Dashboard. This will automatically initiate a connection with Netflix. Sign in using your Netflix account details. If you have already used Netflix on your PlayStation 3 using the Netflix disc, you will not be asked to sign in again.
Step 4: Play the Content
Once you are signed in, browse the movies and TV shows available on Netflix and select the content you want to watch. Select any title and it will start streaming right away. You can queue items and make lists for watching content later. You will find a range of TV shows, movies and kids’ programs to select from.
